Hi! My name is Amy and I have the privilege of making really cool jewelry. I am married to Lee and we have two great kids: Caleb – 15 and Jill – 12. We love the Lord with all of our hearts and want to glorify Him with our lives. Life is beautiful, but life is messy. I am a two-time breast cancer survivor – 2008 and 2009. Although I worked as a registered nurse before my children were born, I was not ready to go back into the hospital to work as a nurse after I finished up all my treatments and surgeries. So, I was able to get a job at a local boutique. While working at the boutique, I've enjoyed learning about fashion and style. Since my hair grew back from chemo, I have kept it short and I love to wear big earrings. I mean, come on…big earrings brighten anyone's day! They are so fun and add a little personality to any outfit. The problem with big earrings is that they are so heavy! I didn't want to wear them because I didn't want them to pull on my earlobes.
One day I did something very uncharacteristic for me. I decided to try and make some earrings. I found a piece of leather and started drawing, and that's where it began. I made myself some earrings and liked them so much that I wore them to work. They were so lightweight that I could hardly tell I was wearing them!
My coworkers began to ask about them and even asked if I would make some for them! WHAT? I was surprised, but I went for it and started creating. I made several pairs and gave them out to my friends at work. Soon, they began wearing them and started asking me to make more for their friends and family. I was really starting to see that God was opening this door for me, and I needed to walk through it.
After you go through a trauma or crisis or trial, sometimes you doubt yourself, your self worth, and value. It can shatter your confidence and leave you feeling anxious, depressed, and fearful. BUT, GOD! God is at work in our lives! He is showing me that my life is not over because I had cancer, and that He still has great plans for me (Jeremiah 29:11).
I am humbled by the support I've received as I step outside my box and have a new adventure. I hope that you enjoy this line of lightweight jewelry and they bring you joy. Be bold, be unique, and rock your style! Love, Amy
